With the current national lockdown expected to be lifted on May 1, 2021, we at 2Futures are looking forward to being back in the office as soon as possible.
While we are well used to working remotely, according to our usual high standards, our team will begin a phased return to our Pointe aux Canonniers office in compliance with health and safety requirements.
Meanwhile, we remain at your disposal. Please do not hesitate to contact our real estate consultants to find out more about our luxury properties for sale in the north of Mauritius.
Those waiting to travel to our paradise island will have to bide their time until May 15. We hope to have further advice then on whether travellers will be allowed to enter the country.
Meanwhile, those leaving the island on authorized flights, if any, may continue to do so.
Those planning a holiday or business visit can prepare the following in the meantime:
a certificate of a negative COVID-19 PCR test administered between 5 and 7 days prior to the date of boarding at the last point of embarkation;
a valid air ticket to Mauritius; and proof of purchase of a travel package including accommodation, on a full-board basis, at a designated hotel for a mandatory 14-day in-room quarantine.
This applies to all passengers of all ages travelling to Mauritius. The quarantine period has been extended until May 31, 2021.
As at April 28, 2021, no new COVID-19 cases had been detected within the preceding 24 hours.
The number of local cases confirmed since March 5, 2021 is 575. Of these, 475 have recovered. Fifteen deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus. There are 85 active cases.
More than 20% of the population has been vaccinated to date. Second doses are now being administered, beginning with frontline workers and those in the tourism industry.
In April, Mauritius received a delivery of 100,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from China and confirmed another order for 500,000 doses. The intention is to vaccinate 700,000 people in order to achieve herd immunity.
