There’s a concentration of large shopping centres in north Mauritius, making it the top shoppers’destination on the island. The shopping hubs in this area are just a few kilometres apart, and two, in fact, are just across each other. Here are four of these shopping hubs that have grown popular not only amongst residents of north Mauritius. These are prime draws too for aspiring homebuyers, tourists, and residents from other parts of the island.
Mont Choisy Le Mall, which opened in late 2012 as Mont Choisy Shopping Promenade, is one of the newest amongst the big malls in Mauritius. Occupying 4.8 hectares, it was developed with a park and landscaped open space with a children’s playground. Les Residences de Mont Choisy, a luxury property of 2Futures under the Real Estate Scheme, is walking distance to this upscale shopping centre.
Mont Choisy Le Mall is a hit as a shoppers’ destination as it features more besides its wide selection of boutique shops for fashion, sports, health. and beauty products. It is also host to restaurants with a range of cuisine to choose from including Italian, Turkish. and Indian dishes. This mall likewise hosts well-planned special events draws suited for the entire family.
Just across the street northeast of Mont Choisy Le Mall is another large shopping hub—La Croisette. The latter has put together over 80 iconic retail brands within its 24,000-square-metre of retail space. La Croisette also features a hypermarket, as well as 25 fast food outlets and restaurants.

Grand Baie Coeur de Ville (Grand Baie Heart of Town) was established in 2000 at the strategic La Salette Road near the bayside area. Grand Baie Coeur de Ville, shoppers can turn to the bayside Sunset Boulevard Shopping Village. It features small, hut-like shops along paved roads, a charming contrast from the setup in the local malls.
The products in this shopping hub include high-quality textile, jewellery, and Mauritian handicraft as well as imported products. Quaint local restaurants also abound along the Sunset Boulevard area, offering the ultimate experience.
