Wealth management

Non-citizens  can open a savings account at a Mauritius bank. This will enable regular transactions, transfers, and withdrawals. You will have a debit card to withdraw cash at ATMs and make direct debit payments.

You can have a current account in a foreign currency to receive funds via domestic and international bank transfers. Fixed term and variable interest rates apply.

To open a current account in Mauritius rupees, you must provide a copy of your passport and a utility bill in your name. This will give you access to internet banking. You will also have a chequebook, debit and credit cards. The minimum deposit varies between banks. It’s usually between MUR1,000 and MUR5,000.

Bank opening hours are Monday to Thursday 9am to 3.15pm and on Friday from 9am to 5pm.
